Nathan MacArthur- EVEN MS student-winner of the RMSAWWA Warner scholarship

Congratulations Nathan MacArthur- EVEN MS student-winner of the  Warner scholarship!

The James B. Warner Scholarship was established by RMSAWWA encouraging young professionals to seek higher education in a water-related field. James B. Warner served the Rocky Mountain Section for years in various leadership roles, including mentoring and encouraging young people.
Requirements are: Member of AWWA, junior or higher standing in a water related field of study.

Nathan MacArthur is passionate about the protection of the public's health through proper management and treatment of our drinking water sources. Through his graduate studies he hopes to acquire the necessary skills to provide safe drinking water to the public while protecting the watersheds and ecosystems that are critical to the future of water resources and our environment as a whole.
Nathan has been working with the Summers Lab/DeRISK center to design and implement pilot slow sand filtration (SSF) columns in the Jamestown, CO water treatment plant. He is testing several methods by which to increase microbial activity and SSF effectiveness.
