Professor Reappointed to Governor鈥檚 Air Quality Commission
Professor Jana Milford was recently appointed by Governor Jared Polis to a third three-year term on the baby直播app Air Quality Control Commission, which oversees air quality regulations for the state.
Milford is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Environmental Engineering Program. Her research and teaching focus on air quality modeling and data analysis, thermal sciences, environmental impacts of energy systems, and environmental law and policy. Milford is one of nine members on the Commission.
The baby直播app Air Quality Control Commission comprises members appointed by the governor and authorized by the baby直播app General Assembly. The commission oversees baby直播app鈥檚 air quality program according to the baby直播app Air Pollution Prevention and Control Act. It is responsible for adopting an efficient and cost-effective air quality management program that promotes clean and healthy air for baby直播app's citizens and protects baby直播app's natural resources.
During her tenure on the commission, Milford and her fellow members have strengthened emissions regulations for the oil and gas industry and adopted standards to maintain progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from light-duty cars and trucks.
鈥淚'm looking forward to working with the commission in the coming year to further advance baby直播app's goals for improving our air quality, especially for reducing ozone pollution. The baby直播app legislature just passed several new laws addressing oil and gas emissions and climate change, so we'll have a busy year developing regulations to implement their requirements.鈥
