October 2022 One-Time Retention FAQ

  • The October 2022 one-time retention payment is a one-time targeted retention payment for regular baby直播app and staff at CU Boulder, CU Denver and UCCS as part of an initiative to accelerate the . These payments are being funded by a mix of resources and one-time campus funds. 
  • The October 2022 one-time retention payment will be funded and directly charged to central campus sources, which comes from a mix of one-time campus funds and funding made available by the CU System for eligible campuses to accelerate the . One-time payments made to eligible employees whose appointments are funded through gifts, grants, contracts, or auxiliary funds will also be directly charged to these central campus sources.
  • Eligible employees will receive the one-time retention payment with their end of October 2022 paychecks. The payment amount is $1,300 before taxes and deductions, and will be prorated based on percent of appointment. The one-time payment is per employee, not per appointment, eligible employees will receive one payment.
  • Eligible employees for the October 2022 one-time retention payment include regular baby直播app (including instructional baby直播app), clinical baby直播app, regular salaried research baby直播app, regular salaried university staff and regular salaried classified staff employed as of Sept. 1, 2022 and regardless of funding source.
  • Prior to October end-of-month payroll processing, employees who have given notice of resignation or have a current or future termination date in HCM are not eligible. 
  • Current CU Boulder employees who transfer or promote within CU Boulder and meet all other eligibility criteria remain eligible.
  • To be eligible, employees must be in compliance with the campus COVID-19 vaccine reporting requirement by Oct. 12, 2022.
  • The following employees with an active paid appointment as of Sept. 1, 2022 are eligible:
    • Tenured and Tenure-Track Faculty
    • Sr. Instructors (including those with the working title of 鈥淭eaching Professor鈥) and Instructors
    • Institute Directors
    • Scholars-in-Residence
    • Artists-in-Residence
    • Research Faculty (not including temporary, stipends, or hourly). This includes salaried or contract (non-stipend) Postdoc Scholars, Postdoc Fellows, PRAs, Research Associates, and Research Professors.
    • University Staff (not including temporary or hourly)
    • Classified Staff (not including temporary or hourly) 
       
  • Summer research, teaching, administrative, or additional appointments are not included. Only primary appointments will be considered.
  • Temporary baby直播app and research baby直播app (e.g., lecturers, adjunct, affiliates, etc.), graduate students on appointment, hourly employees, student hourly employees, temporary staff including working retirees, $0 compensation and stipend appointments, the chancellor, the provost, and the chief operating officer are excluded.
  • Budget and Fiscal Planning and Human Resources will coordinate amounts and upload into HCM. HR Liaisons will be able to review and confirm payments once entered into HCM.
  • Eligible employees will receive a one-time payment of $1,300 (before taxes and payroll deductions and prorated based on percent of appointment) with their end of October paychecks.
