Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework for curriculum created by聽聽that is designed to minimize barriers to learning, in order to proactively meet the needs of all students.聽

The preparation for learning diversity begins with course design.UDL acknowledges that each student presents different strengths and weaknesses in the learning environment, and gives strategies for educators to best navigate their diversity. This creates an inclusive educational space in which all learners can feel both heard and seen, and the student-instructor relationship is strengthened.聽

When implementing strategies of UDL in curriculum, educators can provide students an individualized learning experience to best help them succeed. This approach aims to include and uplift every learner. UDL Digital Badge聽

If you are interested in developing and/or redesigning your course content to include best practices from the UDL framework, and learning more about UDL practices themselves, the self-paced UDL Canvas course is designed to teach the fundamentals. It opens the opportunity to join a community of inquiry, focused on eliminating barriers to learning in the content we create. Participants will not only learn, but apply the concepts of Universal Design to the context of their work, and will be connected to campus contacts for assistance/support.聽
