Baowen Li is receiving international recognition for his pioneering work in phononics.
The Academia Europaea, a London-based society of scientists and scholars from across Europe, has
Li, the Rennie Family Endowed Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CU Boulder, is a founding father of the field of phononics, the study and manipulations of vibrations at the quantum level.
He has produced seminal, highly cited research on energy transport in low dimensional systems, and in the manipulation and control of heat- and phonon transport occurring on microscopic and nano scales.
Academia Europaea recognizes leading researchers from the physical sciences and technology, biological sciences and medicine, mathematics, the letters and humanities, social and cognitive sciences, baby直播apps and the law.
Less than five percent of their inductees are outside Europe. Among its 3,600 members, more than 130 are Nobel Prize, Fields, and Turing winners.
Li鈥檚 election is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to physics and engineering sciences, and a strong long-time collaboration with European colleagues and institutes.
"It is really my honor to be elected as a foreign member of this elite club. Many members were my role models when I was student," Li says.
Li has been a baby直播app member at CU Boulder since 2015. He previously served as a distinguished Russell Severance Springer (visiting) professor at the University of California Berkeley, and was a professor at National University of Singapore.
