Alumni, Industry Partners & Friends:听
As the fall semester kicks off, I am always energized by the return of students to campus and the renewed sense of purpose that I feel for our department鈥檚 mission: to pioneer scientific breakthroughs, launch innovative technologies and educate the next generation of creative engineers. We have already made a great start this fall towards these goals.
But that is not to say our department didn鈥檛 have an eventful summer as well, with several baby直播app winning prestigious awards for their research. Svenja Knappe received the Carl Zeiss Humboldt Research Award for her work in quantum mechanics. Nick Bottenus won a Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Award for his work in ultrasound molecular imaging. And Nathalie Vriend was named a 2023 Experimental Physics Investigator by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.听
This fall semester has already come with many successes. Carson Bruns and Kaushik Jayaram continue to inspire the public with 鈥渟mart鈥 tattoos and tiny, shapeshifting robots, respectively. And Mike Hannigan and Daniel Knight continue to expand their K-12 outreach program in soil and air quality monitoring.
I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of the fall semester will bring for our department.听
Sincerely,
Peter Hamlington
