Frequently asked questions

NAfME stands for the 鈥淣ational Association of Music Education.鈥 It is an organization that advocates for and provides resources to music educators across the country. At the collegiate level, CU鈥檚 chapter of NAfME provides students interested in music education with teaching resources, professional development opportunities, and music education conferences at the state and national level.

Instructions can be found here.

NAfME credits are a way of encouraging members to get involved with NAfME. Because of the organization鈥檚 limited financial resources, credits help us allocate those resources in a fair way to members who actively participate and take advantage of the resources NAfME has to offer.

Members can earn credits by attending NAfME events and workshops, helping out with setup/takedown and advertising (making or putting up posters) of said events, and in other various ways that may come up throughout the semester. Upcoming credit opportunities are posted on events calendar posted on the NAfME board, or by contacting the current president or secretary.

Undergraduate members must earn 5 credits per semester, and graduate students must earn 3. Going over the required amount is encouraged! Failure to meet this requirement each semester will place your membership in 鈥渂ad standing,鈥 and makes you ineligible for financial support for upcoming trips.

Members who are not in good standing do not qualify for housing assistance at upcoming conferences and trips.

No. Each member must collect 5 credits per semester to stay in good standing. For example, if 7 credits are earned during the fall semester, 5 must still be collected in the spring (not 3). Note that this is a new policy starting in the 2013-2014 school year.

Contact information for NAfME鈥檚 officers can be found on our website or on the NAfME Board (located across the hall from C125). You are welcome to direct questions to our current officers, who鈥檚 information can be found on the NAfME board, or baby直播app advisor, .
