    The Anasazi String Quartet (ASQ) won 1st Prize in the 2012 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition. The quartet, praised by audiences for their passionate and engaging performances, has been playing together since the fall of 2009. Founded at the University of baby直播app at Boulder, ASQ pursued studies with the school鈥檚 string baby直播app: Lina Bahn, Judith Glyde, Erika Eckert, and the Tak谩cs Quartet.

    CU Boulder Music alumna Megan Marino (MM 2008, vocal performance) won third prize in the 2012 Lotte Lenya Competition on April 21, 2012, at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Three-time Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker, Broadway and Encores! music director Rob Berman, and Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization President and American Theater Wing Chairman of the Board Theodore S. Chapin served as judges.

    The Aakash Mittal Quartet, led by Aakash Mittal (BM 2007, saxophone), received the ASCAP/Chamber Music America award for Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music for jazz ensemble in January in New York. The group performs its members鈥 original works and draws heavily on the improvisational vocabulary and compositional aspects of the North Indian classical raga tradition.
