Researchers at the University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder have received a $280,000 grant to help unlock the mystery of how diffuse knapweed, a noxious weed that has infested more than 80,000 acres along the Front Range and 3.2 million acres in the West, has become dominant in the prairies around Boulder.

Requests for information about how to address bullying in schools is becoming increasingly common at the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence at the University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder. Professor Delbert Elliott, the center's director, said bullying was one of two common concerns he heard last year during an extensive statewide tour of schools he made with babyÖ±²¥app Attorney General Ken Salazar. The other major issue was drug use.

Joe Negler Donates $3.7 Million To CU-Boulder For Endowed Chairs In Engineering And Music

CU-Boulder Chancellor Richard Byyny announced today that Joe Negler has donated $3.7 million to establish an endowed chair in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Negler also established the first endowed chair in the College of Music. "The Negler gift for endowed chairs allows a university such as ours the opportunity to attract, honor and retain some of the best teaching and research talent in the nation," according to Byyny. "That talent, in turn, attracts leading students to our campus."

Robert Cranny Named Director Of Wardenburg Health Center

Robert Cranny has been appointed to the position of director of the Wardenburg Health Center at the University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder, according to Ron Stump, vice chancellor for student affairs. The appointment is pending Chancellor Byyny's approval. Cranny has held the position on an interim basis for the past 16 months. He has been actively involved in health care management for 15 years, including six years at Wardenburg. He also is president of Arvada-Wheat Ridge Physical Therapy in Wheat Ridge, Colo.

CU-Boulder Selects Ted Scripps Fellows In Environmental Journalism For 2001-02

The Center for Environmental Journalism at the University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder has selected five journalists as the 2001-2002 Ted Scripps Fellows in Environmental Journalism. Starting next fall the fellows will study environmental science, policy, law and journalism for two semesters at the university and will work on individual research projects.
