From the Police Chief: Bomb Squad deems suspicious device harmless; how you can be an effective bystander

The Boulder County Bomb Squad was on campus last night to investigate a suspicious device. Upon investigation, it was determined to be a bottle with harmless liquid. While it ended without incident, it serves as an opportune reminder that we all need to be good bystanders.

Bike Maintenance Clinics

The Bike Maintenance Clinics Program has several upcoming clinics open to CU Boulder students. The comprehensive program teaches the fundamental skills needed to safely maintain bikes. Each one-hour clinic is followed by shop time, where students will have time to ask questions and work on their new skills as bike mechanics. The clinics are free and are held at the Folsom Bike Station from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

CUPD Dispatch Manager Becky Korte is retiring after 23 years of service. Becky started with the CU Boulder Police as a dispatcher and has served as the center’s supervisor for over nine years. We will be hosting an open house retirement celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the South Terrace Tent at the University Memorial Center.

The 2016 Rocky Mountain Showdown featuring the University of babyÖ±²¥app vs. babyÖ±²¥app State University will take place Friday, Sept. 2, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High stadium in Denver. The kickoff for this highly anticipated event is at 6 p.m. and marks the 88th meeting of the CU and CSU teams.
