The Marshall Scholarship looks to support intellectually distinguished young Americans who are likely to be strong leaders in their fields to study in the U.K., to gain cultural understanding, and to act as ambassadors between the U.K. and the U.S.

  • Campus deadline: August 15
  • Final deadline:  Early October each year 
  • °Õ±ğ°ù³¾:ÌıTypically two years, leading to a graduate degree. Limited one year scholarships are available.
  • Amount of support: The scholarships are tenable at any British university and cover two years of study in any discipline. The total value of a Marshall Scholarship varies according to the Scholar’s university, but averages about £23,000.
  • Number of scholarships: approximately 40 per year.

Eligibility

  • Be a U.S. citizen;
  • Hold an undergraduate degree from and accredited four-year college or university in the United States by the time the scholarship is taken up;
  • Have a GPA of not less than 3.7 on their undergraduate degree;
  • Have graduated from their undergraduate college or university less than two years before application;
  • Not have studied for, or hold a degree or degree-equivalent qualification from a British University.

Application Procedures

°ä²¹²Ô»å¾±»å²¹³Ù±ğ²õÌımust be endorsed by the university, which means a competitive selection process on campus.  Endorsed candidates will complete an online application, including several short essays.  The application requires three letters of recommendation (750 words or fewer).
