InteGrated Lunar Occupation Outpost (IgLOO)

Description: The IgLOO Project Team will work to support the CU AES Bioastronautics (BIOASTRO) Group and Boeing Advanced Explorations Group in developing concepts to support the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) exploration goals and missions for Artemis. Exploration of Earth’s moon will require living and working in a hostile environment. There will be a need for a habitat that astronaut crews can live and work in while conducting exploration missions on the surface. The University of babyÖ±²¥app is uniquely positioned to develop concepts

for this surface mission due to the presence of the CU-Boulder BIOASTRO group that focuses on human spaceflight. Their previous research and work on NASA programs like Gateway and the Habitats Optimized for Missions of Exploration (CHAMP) project well positions them for further habitat design work. The Graduate Project Team will complete the conceptual design of IgLOO, modify the existing ASTRA mockup to create a medium-low fidelity mockup of a lunar habitat, and complete human factors testing to validate layout of the habitat design and hatch capabilities.
