The Leeds giving story

The naming gift for the Leeds School of Business set the school on a track that鈥檚 equipped its student, alumni and baby直播app to bring invaluable perspectives to the changing world of work. Just after Michael Leeds and his family announced the gift, in 2001, the Enron scandal made clear that the phrase 鈥渂usiness ethics鈥 had become an oxymoron. The gift instilled within the school a purpose and a mission to consider ethics a core business skill, like finance or marketing. For more than 20 years, Leeds has emphasized ethics, social responsibility, diversity and sustainability鈥攄emonstrating the business case for these values long before they made it to the C-suite. Now, as industry confronts an age of A.I., climate change and increasing geopolitical tension, Leeds and its graduates are better prepared than ever to ensure business has a seat at the table in solving the greatest challenges of tomorrow. With a vision for inclusive excellence, the Office of Diversity Affairs (ODA) plays a crucial role at Leeds. ODA helps bridge the education gap for students who have demonstrated strong potential, but have limited access to rigorous high school preparation resources. ODA programs prepare these students to excel by providing challenging programming and extraordinary support, helping to recruit and retain underrepresented and first-generation students while setting them up for career success.

End the Gap is a comprehensive recruitment strategy to help Leeds attract more female students and empower them to succeed in school and on the job. Leeds is committed to increasing access to business education for women, providing strong female role models and increasing career readiness so that women are prepared to create, develop and lead the next big idea.

Being global not only requires an understanding of various markets, cultures, and geopolitical systems, it also requires a mindset open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. At Leeds, the First-Year Global Experience program is key to taking the classroom experience to the global stage.

At Leeds, we are committed to making a best-in-class business education accessible to all students. Donor-funded scholarships enable Leeds to attract top students by removing barriers to education, unlocking untold potential and innovation for the future of business. When it comes to recruiting the best, brightest and most diverse class, scholarship awards influence students鈥 decisions to come to Leeds more than any other factor. For some, they make Leeds financially accessible. For all, they are a demonstration of the school鈥檚 investment in their potential and future success.

Scholarships by the numbers:

  • 1,798 donor-funded scholarships awarded to Leeds students in FY22.
  • $5,000 starting award amount for positively influencing an admitted student's decision to come to Leeds.
  • $7,000 approximate gap in tuition "sticker price" between Leeds and our public school competitors.

Donors like you recognize the life-changing potential of a business degree. Please join us with an investment in student scholarships to make the opportunity and prosperity of a Leeds education accessible for future generations.
