Heads of the Class: Chloe Theil (RelEst, Mktg’23)

Meet five students who’ve honed their personal leadership styles by heading up student clubs at Leeds. Their stories are different, but their approaches share a common thread: Next-gen leaders will seek to understand rather than command.

Chloe Theil (RelEst, Mktg’23)
Former President, Women in Business

Chloe Theil was highly involved on campus, but she was most passionate about Women in Business. When she took over as president in fall 2022, the club had only 10 active members. But Chloe was determined to revive the club and grow its membership.

She drew on the leadership lessons she learned in her classes, including conflict resolution. When she felt that a club member wasn’t pulling her weight, she knew how to have a discussion about it in a constructive way.

But more than anything, Chloe relied on her experience working on group projects and her time working at Leeds Technology Services. These experiences taught her how to communicate effectively with people she didn’t know well and how to build empathy for others.

Thanks to Chloe’s hard work and dedication, Women in Business is now thriving. The club has over 200 active members, and it is a valuable resource for women on campus.
