Net Impact MBA Chapter Earns Gold Recognition

The Net Impact MBA chapter, a part of the Center for Education on Social Responsibility (CESR), at the Leeds School of Business has been recognized as a Gold Chapter by Net Impact Central for its ongoing efforts to bring an array of engaging opportunities for students to take advantage of.

"On behalf of all of our passionate Net Impact members here at the Leeds School of Business, I'm very excited to reach this milestone," says Chris Barba, chapter co-president with Steven Ross. "It is a public reflection of our program's leadership in the entrepreneurial application of business strategies which seek profitable solutions to the social and environmental challenges of our generation."

This is an honor achieved by only 13 percent of the 180+ chapters of the overall Net Impact organization, whose mission is to inspire, educate, and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world. Its membership spans six continents and includes an influential network of MBAs, graduate students, and professionals.

鈥淭hose of us associated with the Leeds MBA Net Impact club are excited to receive Gold Chapter recognition and welcome being mentioned in the same league as the elite universities we share that honor with," Ross says.

He adds: "This achievement foremost is a statement about what previous classes have accomplished. Without their hard work increasing the profile and offerings of our Net Impact club, we would not have reached this milestone. A majority of our MBA class is dedicated to creating a just and sustainable world, this is certainly a deserved acknowledgement of that. Going forward we will not look at this as the peak of our efforts but rather the start of an even greater challenge.鈥
