Both nationally and worldwide, Leeds School of Business students make their mark at prestigious case competitions in every area of business.
Last weekend, a team of Leeds School of Business MBA and MS Supply Chain Management students competed in the regional round of the pre-eminent Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) Case Competition on February 14-15 in California.
The , co-sponsored by Deloitte, received submissions from over 300 teams from 137 schools around the world. Leeds was one of only eight teams chosen for the west region competition, one of eight regional competitions globally.
Making it to the regionals was a great accomplishment. To get there, team captain Philip Suh (MBA 鈥�20) led Basma Mosly (MSSC鈥�20), Laura Steeve (MSSC鈥�20) and Andrew Hossley (MBA鈥�20) to victory in the preliminaries last November. Their case covered inventory management, process flow, warehouse design and production scheduling.
鈥淲ith an extremely limited amount of data,鈥� says Suh, 鈥渨e successfully created a solution that could easily be applied and manipulated with additional information.鈥� He attributes their success to the team鈥檚 critical thinking and creative problem solving techniques. 听
At the regionals last weekend, the level of competition was high. The Leeds team made a bold showing, but the University of San Diego ultimately moves on to the finals.
