Addressing Sustainable Investing at the 2020 Burridge Center for Finance Conference
The Burridge Center for Finance held its 2020 Conference on February 27–28. The annual event showcases industry thought leadership, challenges and trends in the finance industry. This year’s theme focused on sustainable investing. Nearly 200 attended to hear more than 25 speakers, including babyֱapp’s 39th Secretary of State Jena Griswold and Alice Jackson, President of Xcel Energy babyֱapp.
Presented over two days between Boulder and Denver, the conference started with opening remarks delivered by Griswold before an evening of panel discussions. The discussions that centered on environmental, social and governance (ESG); the increased demand for corporate transparency; and how environmental and social issues can impact funds, organizations and individual investors.
The conference reconvened the following morning in Boulder. Set against the dramatic views of the Flatirons and Folsom Field, Jena Griswold and Heidi VanGenderen, CU Boulder’s first Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) kicked off the day's events by sharing their perspectives on the intersectionality of regulation, sustainability and fostering babyֱapp growth.
According to Burridge Center for Finance Executive Director Roberto Caccia, “The Burridge Conference continues to harness CU Boulder’s home-grown talent and research by hosting a forum, where students can connect with industry thought-leaders and have open discussions about the future of finance.”
Other highlights included panels moderated by Finance Professor Chris Leach and Heidi VanGenderen.
